Digital Recorder Features and Benefits

Supports Analog or Digital Phone Taps
The system has been designed to record outbound calls from inmate phones or through the digital communication lines from the public telephone system.

Centralized Control
DRA has been designed to be scalable to support institutions small and large with one or more inmate phone systems. The servers can be configured to operate independently or be subject to centrally-determined business rules that can be optionally overridden by the individual institutions.

Scalability
DRA incorporates Advanced Technologies Group, Inc.'s unique inter-site communication technology to support many servers that can report call history, call recordings and control parameters to one or more central network centers. Each server can support up to a hundred phone lines and can simultaneously record dozens of calls. Large sites can implement multiple DRA's that function as one cohesive entity.

Centralized Reporting
The central control and inter-site communication ensure reporting at both the institution and the central levels. Reports are configurable by the user to provide key information. Furthermore, data can be exported or directly exchanged with outside financial systems.

Live and Mandatory Monitoring
DRA provides features to assign risk levels to be associated with called parties, inmates and locations. The combined risk level of a call sets its priority for monitoring. The priority also determines if a system should automatically switch a monitoring station to monitor a high priority call. Mandatory monitoring refers to the system's ability to call and 'patch-in' a remote monitor on a phone.

Ease of Transfer
The Digital Recording Appliance supports a variety of removable media and can output recordings to CD, DVD, Zip, Jaz, MP3 or other devices. A standalone application provides validation and playback mechanisms to allow receiving agencies such as federal and state agencies and courts to verify and play back recordings.

Links to Inmate Telephone Systems
DRA works with other phone systems to further configure call progress status and recording mode. It is configurable to work with an existing technology to link calls to stations, inmates, called parties and restrictions.
